OPENING ACT

President Steve Schroder called the meeting to order.  In the absence of Jonathan Turner and the Kiwanis All Star Orchestra, Daryl Empen served as Liz Berridge's first call for help on song reading.

In the Interclub Area, John Califf informed us that the traveling gavel was going to be heading to Kewanee Wednesday, November 21.  He also informed us that the annual Tom & Jerry Party and Holiday Stagger would be conducted by the Davenport Club December 20.  Start reserving your cabs now.

Dave Umphrey informed us of the december 4 Project Santa activity at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center.

In keeping with the holiday spirit of giving, we were also reminded that the coat purchase and give-away and Salvation Army bell-ringing would be activities on which we can count on assisting sometime in the next month.   Also, the annual Martin Luther King Center Christmas party wrapping fest will be held Saturday, December 8 at 9:00 a.m, with the party scheduled for December 12 from approximately 5:00 to 7:30.

There were several guests in our presence, including representatives of both Key Clubs.

Jennings reminded us of the annual Bad Gift Exchange, to serve as the highlight of the meeting on December 17.  Dust off your favorite trash and treasures and amuse your friends.

There were numerous Happy and Sad Dollars.

In Fun and Fellowship, Alicia Shuman won the preliminary prize, while the Kartel won $8 in the grand prize drawing.

THE FEATURE ATTRACTION

Rock Island High School varsity boy’s basketball coach, Thom Sigel, gave the program on the state of Rock Island Basketball.

FUTURE ATTRACTIONS

Nov. 26 Steve Smithers, Alleman High School boy’s basketball coach.
